Readers search by title, author, or series. Publishing website design gives each book a complete page and an easy path to buy it, from you or a retailer.

Services

## The work behind a catalog that sells.

Each service supports readers, booksellers, or authors. Start with the group that struggles most on your site today.

*Publishing*

**### Information Architecture**

For publishers when the catalog has grown by season, series, and format. Clear structure lets readers, booksellers, and authors each find their own path.

Start here when finding one title takes several clicks.

**### Search Engine Optimization**

For publishers when readers search for a title or author and land on a retailer instead. Book pages with full details give search engines and readers a reason to choose your page.

Start here when your own book pages rarely appear for your titles.

[Explore Search Engine Optimization](https://scayverstaging.1wp.site/services/optimization/search-engine-optimization/)

**### Email Marketing**

For publishers when readers would buy a new release if they knew about it. A newsletter by genre or author reaches them for preorders and launch events.

Start here when release news goes only to social media.

**### E-commerce Website Design**

For publishers when you want to sell books, bundles, or subscriptions direct. Checkout, shipping, and digital delivery need planning, and the store platform needs review before launch.

Start here when every buy button sends readers to another store.

Disciplines

## Publishing, discipline by discipline.

What each service family must get right in this field. Open one to see its services.

Customer journey

## Track one reader from a title search to the checkout.

Take a recent release. Search for it as a reader would, try to buy it on a phone, and note each gap.

Find the book Judge the book Choose where to buy Hear about the next one

### Is this the book I am looking for?

Show the cover, title, author, series, format, and publication date together.

What the website needs to do

Add identifiers such as the ISBN for booksellers and libraries.

Next: decide whether it is for me.

### Will I like it?

Offer a description, an excerpt, and review quotes you have permission to use.

Link to the author page and other books in the same series.

Next: choose where to buy.

### Where can I get it, and in which format?

List formats and buying options, direct and through retailers, with working links.

Check retailer links each season and remove dead ones.

Next: complete the purchase.

### When is the next book out?

Invite readers to follow the author or series by email.

Announce preorders and launch events to that list first.

Next: a returning reader for the next release.

Information

## Publishing website design that turns a title search into a sale.

A publisher serves readers, booksellers, reviewers, and authors. Each group arrives with a different task, and the catalog has to support all of them.

Complete pages

### Book pages missing the basics

Readers and booksellers need format, date, price, and identifiers in one place. Incomplete pages send them to retailers who have the details.

Submission rules

### Submissions that flood the inbox

Clear guidelines, open and closed reading periods, and a structured form keep submissions organized for your editors.

Launch timing

### Launches that come and go

A release needs attention before the date. Preorder pages, excerpts, and event listings build interest in advance.

Rights requests

### Rights and permissions requests

Rights buyers and people seeking permissions need a contact route and clear information. A dedicated page keeps these requests out of general email.

Local search

## Connect books to local readers.

Readings, launches, and bookstore events bring readers and authors together. Make each one easy to find and attend.

1. ### List author events
Give each reading or launch its own page with the venue, date, and how to attend.
2. ### Point to local bookstores
Link to independent stores that stock your titles, when they have agreed to it.
3. ### Keep your own details current
Keep your address, contact routes, and any office hours consistent across listings and the site.

Process

## Who handles each piece.

New titles arrive every season, and details change up to launch day. Clear ownership keeps the catalog accurate.

1. Scayver Graphix
   ### Structure the catalog
Plan book, author, and series pages so each new title follows the same pattern.
2. Your team
   ### Supply book details
Provide covers, descriptions, formats, identifiers, and dates for each title.
3. Together
   ### Review title data and store tools
Check whether your title management system or store can feed the site, and confirm it before building.
4. Together
   ### Plan launch emails
Schedule preorder and release emails for each title ahead of its date.
5. Your team
   ### Handle submissions
Open and close reading periods and answer authors as your guidelines state.

Readiness

## Bring the catalog. We will find the gaps.

A spreadsheet of titles with ISBNs, formats and release dates is enough to start. From it we can see what a reader, a bookseller and an author each look for on a book page. This checklist is private to your browser and sends no data.

Select the inputs you have ready.

Questions

## Questions publishers ask first.

**### Should we sell direct or link to retailers?**

You can do both. Direct sales need checkout, shipping, and returns you can support, while retailer links need regular checks. We help you weigh the options first.

**### Can the catalog update from our title data?**

Often, yes. If your title data already reaches retailers through an ONIX feed, the same system may also export a file a website can read. We check what yours produces before we plan the catalog. If it cannot export, we set up a short manual routine for adding each new title.

**### How do we manage submissions?**

Publish clear guidelines and reading periods, then use a structured form or the submission platform you already use. We review that platform before linking to it.

**### Can we publish review quotes?**

Yes, when you have permission and the quote is accurate. Credit the source and link to the full review where you can.
