A Stripe payment integration has two views: your customer sees a payment form, and your business sees an order, invoice, or request that must move forward. They need to agree.

If they disagree, someone may deliver before payment completes or leave a paid customer waiting. A Stripe integration should make the relationship between checkout and the next step explicit, so we scope the website experience, the event handoff, and the checks that make the flow understandable to your team.

## Choose a checkout path for the offer.

Start with the item or service, amount, currency, and timing of payment. Is the buyer making a one-time purchase, paying a deposit, or entering a recurring arrangement? What should they see before paying? Who can change the amount? What page do they reach after success or cancellation?

Stripe documents both [hosted and embedded Checkout approaches](https://docs.stripe.com/checkout/quickstart). Those are technical options, not a substitute for deciding which experience fits your offer and account. A platform-specific integration may introduce its own settings and constraints. We would assess the current website and the Stripe account before choosing an implementation.

## Verify the event that starts fulfillment.

A return to a success page does not, by itself, establish that your business received payment. The system that delivers a download, marks an order ready, or notifies a service team should use the right confirmed payment state. Stripe’s [webhook documentation](https://docs.stripe.com/webhooks) describes how applications can receive payment events, validate them, and react to asynchronous changes.

That handoff needs an owner. Decide what data the receiving team actually needs, where the transaction reference lives, and how a failed notification is found. Avoid sending card details or unnecessary personal information into a CRM or email system. If an event arrives twice, the workflow should not create two orders or send two deliverables. If it never arrives, the team needs a recovery path.

## Test more than the happy path.

Check a successful payment, a declined or incomplete payment, a cancellation, and a case where the browser closes before confirmation. Review the customer-facing message and the internal record after each test. If refunds, subscriptions, taxes, or multiple currencies are part of the business model, include them in the scope and test plan. A payment flow is ready only when the team understands its exceptions as well as its normal path.

Your business controls its Stripe account, policies, authorized users, and provider eligibility. We can define website-side work, but a directory entry does not mean Scayver is a Stripe partner or that a particular payment setup has already been approved.

## Map the Stripe payment integration and handoff.

Tell us what the customer pays for, where the website runs, and what should happen after payment. We can help scope the flow and its exception checks.

The build

## Building Stripe, and the friction that comes with it.

### How Scayver builds it.

Scayver connects the Stripe account to WooCommerce or the site through the official gateway, sets up API keys, and configures webhooks for order status. We test live and test-mode transactions and confirm payouts and refunds work.

### What goes wrong in practice.

Missing or misrouted webhooks leave orders stuck in pending. Test and live keys get mixed up. Strong Customer Authentication can block payments if 3D Secure is not handled.

FAQ

## Questions about Stripe

The things people ask on the first call. If yours is not here, ask us directly.

[Ask us directly](https://scayverstaging.1wp.site/talk-to-a-specialist/?form=book)

**Can Stripe payments trigger emails or fulfillment steps?**

Supported payment events can inform downstream actions. The action should follow a verified event and a defined business rule, not a page view alone.

**Do we need a custom checkout page?**

Not automatically. A hosted approach may suit some requirements. Embedded or platform-specific work may suit others. The choice follows the offer and experience you need.

**What should happen if a payment is delayed?**

The customer and team should see a clear pending state. Do not fulfill based on an assumption that payment will finish.
