If customers already ask questions on WhatsApp, a WhatsApp Business integration makes that next step clear on your website, from a chat link to a messaging workflow.

A chat link opens a conversation. A business messaging workflow may need an authorized account, approved message content, a record of customer intent, a reply owner, and a way to handle missed events. To choose the path that fits, we begin with the question a visitor is trying to answer, the information your team needs, and the point where a person should take over. The platform follows that design, not the other way around.

## Choose the job before choosing the connection.

A service business may want a visitor to ask about availability. An ecommerce business may want a customer to discuss an existing order. Those are different conversations. An open chat link may be enough for one, while another may require a defined business-platform integration. Decide which action the website invites and what the visitor should expect after tapping it.

If you plan automated messages, map the reason for each one. Who requested the contact? What information may the message include? How does the recipient reach a person or stop further contact? Your business must set its permission and communication policies. A technical connection cannot make an unsuitable message appropriate.

## Keep the customer and the team in context.

Decide how a message relates to the original website action. If a visitor asks about a project, your team may need the service of interest and the page they used, but not every field the site has collected. Choose the minimum useful context. Give the team a clear owner for incoming replies and a rule for handoff when the first person is unavailable.

Do not scatter the same conversation across a personal phone, a shared inbox, and a CRM without an ownership model. Where should the lasting record live? Who may see it? What happens when two team members respond? These decisions affect the customer experience more than the presence of a chat icon.

## Understand WhatsApp Business integration templates and events.

Meta’s WhatsApp Business Platform documentation includes message templates and webhooks for platform-based messaging. A template is not just a formatting shortcut. Its content and permitted use need to fit the current platform rules and the purpose of the conversation. Verify the applicable account, permissions, message type, and approval state before planning a send.

Webhooks can report incoming messages and other events to a configured system. That makes it possible to route work, but it also creates an operational duty. If an event fails to arrive or process, how will anyone know? If the same event appears twice, will the system open duplicate tasks or send duplicate replies? The workflow should make those cases visible.

## Test the customer’s full path.

Test on a real device with approved accounts. Check the website entry point, the first message or prompt, a human reply, a delayed reply, a duplicate event, and a failed handoff. Confirm that the visitor can tell who they are contacting and that your team can recognize the original question. If business hours affect the response, the copy should set an accurate expectation without inventing an instant reply.

The website, messaging account, and team process may evolve. Record which person owns the business account and who reviews the message flow when content, staffing, or platform rules change.

## Bring the conversation into focus.

Tell us why customers reach for WhatsApp and where your current process loses context. We can help define a narrow, testable integration scope.

The build

## Building WhatsApp, and the friction that comes with it.

### How Scayver builds it.

Scayver sets up WhatsApp Business or the API, adds click-to-chat buttons or a widget to the site, and configures greeting and away messages. For the API we connect a provider and register templates before sending automated messages.

### What goes wrong in practice.

Automated messaging through the API requires approved templates. Number registration and verification can take time. Widgets can clutter mobile layouts if placed poorly.

FAQ

## Questions about WhatsApp

The things people ask on the first call. If yours is not here, ask us directly.

[Ask us directly](https://scayverstaging.1wp.site/talk-to-a-specialist/?form=book)

**Is a WhatsApp link the same as an API integration?**

No. A link opens a chat. A platform integration may connect account events, templates, and business systems. Scope only the level the customer journey requires.

**Can every message be automated?**

No. The message type, account status, permissions, customer context, and current platform rules determine the appropriate path. Human review may be the better choice for a nuanced question.

**What should we prepare first?**

Show us the website entry point, the conversation you want to support, the account owner, and the person who handles replies. That gives us enough to map the handoff.
