> Write direct answer sections that respond to the reader's question early, then add criteria, examples, and next steps without reducing decisions to slogans.

Write direct answer sections: put a short, defensible answer at the start of each section, then explain the conditions, method, and next decision.

## Identify the exact question.

Answer-first writing helps a person who scans, but it does not mean flattening every topic into a one-sentence rule.

“Does my small business need a custom website?” is too broad until you know what “custom” means to the reader. They might be asking about design, integrations, editing, or cost. A useful section can answer one of those questions directly and state when the answer changes.

For example, a standard content site may not need custom application logic. A business with unusual scheduling, account, or data workflows may need development beyond a simple template. That is a direct answer with a condition. It gives the reader a way to locate their own situation.

## Lead with the decision, not background.

Do not open with a history of websites or a list of acronyms. Start with the choice. Then show the two or three factors that determine it. If the section asks, “Can we keep the current CMS?” the first sentence should say that the decision depends on the site’s existing content model, editing needs, integrations, and technical condition. The rest can explain how to inspect those items.

This structure respects readers who only need an orientation and readers who need detail. It also gives the page a coherent answer that can be understood outside its original paragraph.

## Keep the supporting explanation specific.

Use a scenario, comparison, or short checklist when it helps. Name what the reader should examine and what different findings imply. Link to the relevant service only after the explanation has earned that next step. A [web development service](https://scayverstaging.1wp.site/services/development/web-development/) page can discuss scope once the guide clarifies the decision.

Google’s [AI features guidance](https://developers.google.com/search/docs/appearance/ai-features) says standard SEO fundamentals remain relevant and no special optimization is required for its AI search features. Answer-first writing serves the reader. It is not a guarantee of an AI citation or a reason to add artificial question blocks.

## Review for false certainty.

Some questions do not have a universal answer. Price, migration risk, accessibility work, and platform selection depend on facts about the current site. State what can be decided generally and what requires a project review. An honest conditional answer is more useful than a confident answer that is wrong for half the audience.

Check that the first sentence and the supporting detail agree. If the section begins with “yes” and later lists many exceptions, the opening may need to be more precise.

## Keep nuance in direct answer sections.

Read the first two sentences of each question section on their own. They should make sense without the heading, but they should not exaggerate certainty. If a section begins “Always use a custom site,” and the next paragraph lists exceptions, rewrite the opening to name the deciding factor. Then check whether each supporting paragraph earns its place by explaining a condition, method, or example. A compact answer plus a clear boundary is easier for a person to use than either a slogan or a long preamble.

## Rewrite one long introduction as a direct answer.

Choose a page with a long introduction. Write the reader’s question above it. Put a two-sentence answer directly below the heading, then move context and examples after it. Ask a colleague whether they can explain the decision after reading only the opening.
