A button is not finished when it looks clickable. Interaction design specifies how people and an interface respond to each other. It covers controls, feedback, validation, progress, error messages, recovery paths, and state changes. The work helps answer questions that a static screenshot cannot. What happens when a form field is invalid? Does a saved change need confirmation? Can a visitor complete the same task with a keyboard or touch input? The service is especially useful when the content and visual direction are known but the behavior remains ambiguous. A handoff that says “show an error” is incomplete if it does not say where the error appears, what it explains, and how the person can correct it. ## Make every state understandable. We begin with a priority action, such as submitting a lead form, filtering a catalog, saving a preference, or moving through a multi-step request. We map the starting state, the action, the system response, and the next available choice. Then we consider interruptions: slow loading, missing content, invalid input, no results, or a failed request. The goal is not to add animation everywhere. Motion can show that an element changed state or moved in response to an action. It is never the only way to understand what happened. The interaction must remain usable when motion is reduced and when someone navigates by keyboard, touch, zoom, or assistive technology. ## Where the design effort goes ### Identify the task and its risk. We focus on the interactions that affect completion or trust. A decorative hover effect is less important than whether a form tells someone which field needs attention and preserves the information they already entered. ### Specify response and recovery. For each important control, we describe states such as default, focus, selected, disabled, loading, success, and error where applicable. We define the message and the recovery route when the normal path cannot continue. ### Review behavior before implementation. A prototype or state map makes the intended behavior visible to the project owner and development team. The handoff names content, accessibility, and technical dependencies instead of leaving them to chance during a build. Include the actual messages or content where possible. We also need the person who can decide what the system should do when a request fails or information is missing. ## Interaction Design pricing and scope Interaction design has no published standalone package price. Clear labels, focus behavior, validation, and recovery may matter more than motion. **Do we need it for a simple website?** Even a simple site has interactions: navigation, forms, accordions, search, and calls to action. The scope should match the complexity and risk of the tasks people perform. **Will the designs work exactly the same on every device?** The intended meaning and result should stay consistent.
