Define the decision.
A campaign is more than an ad or a post. It moves a specific person from a first message to a useful next step.
- Name one audience and the situation that brings them to you.
- State the offer in plain language, including who it does not fit.
- Choose one action that advances the relationship: read, inquire, book, buy, or return.
- Record the evidence you may use. Leave out results, urgency, prices, or testimonials you cannot support.
What would this person need to believe before the next step feels sensible? Write the answer without agency shorthand.
Match message, channel, and destination.
Check that the first line in your ad, email, or social post matches the page it sends people to. The destination should answer the promise quickly. It should not make visitors search for the advertised offer. If the channel has its own format or policy, check current requirements before release.
Decide whether the audience is ready for a direct offer or needs an explanation first. A useful guide can be the right destination for a new audience. A focused service page may fit someone comparing providers. Keep one main action on each destination.
Prepare production and review.
- Assign one owner for the message, landing page, media, links, tracking, and approvals.
- Confirm rights to images, names, quotes, and customer examples.
- Read the copy aloud. Remove vague superlatives and promises the team cannot fulfill.
- Test the page and form on mobile, with a keyboard, and with invalid input.
- Agree on a fallback if a link, form, payment path, or connected tool fails.
Measure the complete outcome.
Write down the questions you want reporting to answer before choosing metrics. Where did qualified visitors come from? Did they understand the offer? Did they take the next step? Could the team respond? Measure the path, not only clicks or reach.
After launch, note what changed and when. Compare signals over a sensible period for your traffic level. A weak result may come from the offer, the message, the audience, the page, or follow-up. Diagnose the break before increasing spend.
Use the content calendar template to turn approved messages into assignments and the website audit checklist to inspect the destination. Marketing strategy is the next service to explore when the channels are active but the system still feels disconnected.
